Grocery Shopping – Week of 4/26

Posted by Admin on Apr 29th, 2009

The only really great deals I got this week were at Dillon’s.  It was mainly just great sales, too…I only used coupons on one thing!

  • 4 Kroger Ice Creams
    0.99 x 4 = 3.96
  • 3 Kroger Ice Cream Novelties
    1.00 x 3 = 3.00
  • 4 Kellogg’s Cereals, 17 oz boxes
    2.18 x 4 = 8.72 – four 1.50/1 coupons = 2.72 or 0.68 each!!!
  • 5 Pepsi product 2 Liters
    1.00 x 5 = 5.00
  • 4 Kroger Shredded Cheese
    1.28 x 4 = 5.12
  • 2 Goldfish
    1.00 x 2 = 2.00
  • Pillsbury Brownie Mix
    1.00
  • 4 Sunday newspapers
    1.86 x 4 = 7.44

Total w/tax: 33.03; Total savings: 28.41 (48%)

CVS was a total flop for me this week.  I had good coupons for Visine, but it wasn’t the Visine that was on sale.  So I just ended up getting one bottle of Visine (with the coupon), no exchange of ECB’s or anything.  So I didn’t even bother taking a picture of my lonely little bottle of Visine.

We spent a bit more than I would have liked at Aldi, mainly because Chad and Ava threw in a kite (not in the picture).  I was excited that cauliflower was on sale for $0.50 a head!  It wasn’t on my list, but I got it anyway because there’s a yummy cauliflower casserole recipe I’ve been wanting to try and I think I’ll make it on Friday night.

Total w/ tax: 44.09

I haven’t been using coupons at Walmart lately, mainly because I do all my bargain food shopping at Dillon’s now and there’s really not great sales to match with coupons at Walmart (most of the time, anyway).

Total w/ tax: 18.11

Total spending: 95.23; Total savings: 28.41

And there you have it!  Not my greatest work ever, but it got the job done! LOL
