To get the best deals on your favorite items, you need to know when to use your coupons.  Even if it’s an item you use all the time, DO NOT USE IT until there’s a sale on that item (or until it’s almost expired).

A couple months ago, a coupon came out for my favorite eyeshadow.  I had to really restrain myself not to use it and to wait and see if a sale came along.  I even put an alarm on my online calendar a few days before the coupon expired so I would be able to use it if there wasn’t a sale.

But sure enough, there was!  Walgreens had the eyeshadow on sale, Buy One Get One Free!  The eyeshadow is usually $6.99, so to buy four would cost $27.96.  With the BOGO sale, I would have only had to pay $13.98.  BUT…I had my four coupons that I’d saved and each one was worth $2 off 1!!  So I only paid $5.98 for all four eyeshadows…that’s less than it usually costs of one!!
